June 23, 1945 – July 29, 2023
Beloved husband, dad, grandpa, son, brother, uncle, friend, coach and story teller, Bob Cooper (age 78) is survived by his wife Sharon of 54 years, daughter Brenda Berger, son Brian Cooper, son John Welsch, son Patrick Welsch, step-daughter Mary Schaffer, three grandchildren and three and a half great-grandchildren (one on the way).
Born and raised in West Seattle and graduated from West Seattle High School in 1963, Bob was a Vietnam veteran who served in Naval Air. His career included 26 years at Bethlehem Steel, 10 years at Jore, and 10 years at King County Solid Waste, retiring in 2012. He enjoyed his retirement years playing golf and spending time with family and friends in both Seattle and Tucson.
A memorial service will be held at 1pm o’clock on September 2, 2023 at Fauntleroy Community Church 9140 California Ave SW, Seattle, WA 98136. Family and friends are welcome to gather in the reception hall immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to Disabled Veterans National Foundation (DVNF) or your favorite charity.
