Bob was the beloved husband of Alice Irene (Kirkpatrick) (29 May 1926-30 May 2009); father of Carol Merrill and Pamela Blanchard; grandfather of Kirsten Merrill-Tipple and Cecily Ian Hawkins; great grandfather of Anderson and Beckett Tipple; Angel Anthony Ian Monroy, Michael Castro, David De La Luz Chavez, Balance Ian O’Neil (d. 2007); boon companion to Charlie the dog; and friend to many.
Bob was a proud veteran of World War II, serving 8 Feb 1943 – 3 Dec 1945. He loved his family, his pets, hard work and travel. He was independent, caring for Alice until her passing, and independently taking care of himself while living with his daughters. We had his strength and his love until the day he quietly left us.
There will be a family and friends memorial luncheon to celebrate Bob’s life later.
