• We remember Richard James Freeman, 72, who peacefully passed away on October 18th, 2023 in Seattle, WA.
Richard was born on November 15th, 1950 in St. Louis, MO to Richard J. and Helen Mae (Webb) Freeman in St. Louis Missouri.
He is preceded by his father, Richard, and mother, Helen Mae, sisters Margret Edwards, Janice Freeman, and Debra Freeman.
Following his childhood in St. Louis, at the age of 17, he joined the Marines and proudly served our country during the Vietnam War. Shortly after, he joined the Navy which brought him to Bremerton, WA. He then decided to embark on a new chapter of his life in Seattle, WA where he graduated from the University of Washington with a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and went on to become a Pre Trial Investigator at the King County Jail for 25 years.
On February 22, 1992, he married the love of his life, Toni A. (Bradley) Freeman. Together they raised their son, Taylor.
He was a man with a beautiful and kind soul who has touched and positively influenced countless people that have come into contact with him. He was somebody who challenged those around him to rise to the occasion and could help others see their potential well before they could even see it in themselves.
He would do absolutely anything for his family and loved his UW Huskies football, Seattle Mariners, Seahawks, jazz music and boxing not to mention his crazy doggos.
He is survived by his wife Toni Freeman, his son Taylor and sister Betty Pierce, as well as a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
