Paul Legarde David Sr passed away at the age of 63 on Monday, February 12th, 2024 at Harborview Medical Center. Paul was born in Singapore on February 15th, 1960 and has lived a exciting life. He was able to travel to Europe in his late 30's and eventually settled down in Hong Kong at the age of 39. On a blind date through friends, Paul met Alili at a Shanghainese restaurant in Causeway Bay and instantly fell in love. In the year 2000, they finally got married and had their firstborn Paul Jr, in 2001. They loved every moment of their parenthood and in 2004, they relocated to Chicago Illinois because Paul and Alili wanted to permanently reside in America after getting approved for their Visas. Unexpectedly in the following year, they had their next son Alvinlee and finally decided that their family was complete. Throughout all of this, Paul was working as a Chef/Baker at the Westin Hotel and Alili got job offer in Alaska. In 2008, the David family moved to Seattle Washington to pursue a better life. Ideally, Alili was suppose to work in Alaska while Paul took care of the kids in Seattle however the job offer fell through. Since then, Paul continued to work at the Westin in Seattle and has even worked at Harborview, Virgina Mason, and Sweedish hospital as a cook. in 2013, Paul and his family took a trip to the Philippines however their trip was cut short because Paul was diagnosed with Kidney failure. Although this was a hard time, Paul persevered and continue to live his life to the fullest and brought his comedic personality everywhere he went. Over the years his condition got worse and was diagnosed with multiple myeloma stage 4 cancer in 2021. Regardless of this, he made sure to love his family and provide in ways that he could. He was always laughing and cracking jokes acting like there was nothing that could stop him. He woke up at 4am everyday to make sure my mom had her coffee and her car was warmed up. Paul would also cook breakfast for his children before they would head to school. Although he wasn't working anymore, he loved his family unconditionally and continued to fight. His wisdom and memories will always be cherished but if he was here right now, he would call us stupid for crying. May he rest in peace with the Lord.
A funeral service for Paul will be held Thursday, February 22, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 6701 30th Ave SW, Seattle, WA 98126.
