Marcia (Marcy) Cecilia Marlene Gentkowski Morano passed away peacefully on November 11, 2024, with her family at her side and in her heart. Born and raised in Wilmington, Delaware, she graduated from Ursuline Academy and Goldey Beacom College. Everyone who knew Marcia instantly gained a loyal friend, an adopted mom, and a prayer warrior who compassionately shared your struggles, hopes, and dreams.
A woman of deep faith and devotion to family, Marcia embraced a life of service. She volunteered her time as an active member of the Ursuline Academy parents’ association and as a receptionist in the Ursuline Lower School offices. She generously set aside personal ambitions and chose to serve as primary caregiver for both of her parents in their elder years. After relocating with her family to Seattle, Washington, Marcia also volunteered at Seattle Children’s Hospital in the Bellevue Surgery Center and the Nephrology division offices.
Professionally, she owned and operated Morano’s Ceramics in Wilmington, Delaware where she taught the creative art of ceramics to friends, family, and the local community. In 2006, she retired from Ursuline Academy after 30 years as an administrative assistant.
Marcia was predeceased by her parents, Jean Szumowski Gentkowski and Walter Stanley Gentkowski, both of Wilmington, Delaware. She lived with and is survived by her loving daughters, Laura Morano and Michelle Morano Wittenborn, both of Seattle, Washington.

In remembrance of Marcia’s beautiful spirit, the family suggests offering a random act of kindness to a person or animal in need. A funeral mass for Marcia will be celebrated on Monday, November 25, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Evergreen Washelli Funeral Home, 11111 Aurora Avenue N., Seattle, WA 98133.
