On April 14, 2017, John Huburt King passed on at 94 years of age. He was born on August 31, 1922 in Victoria, B.C, but was raised in Seattle, Washington, graduating from Roosevelt High School in 1940. After a short time working at Puget Power and three years in the army John returned where he met Adair Granum while working part time at Puget Power and attending the University of Washington.
They were married in 1948. While at Puget Power, he attended the University of Washington for two years. Then he transferred to Columbia University, graduating in 1950. After graduation he worked for Arthur Andersen for six years and 35 years with Puget Power retiring as the Senior Financial Vice President.
Retirement was a lovely time with Adair to travel, spend winters in Arizona, visit the summer cabin, and best of all spending time with the family.
John King will be lovingly remembered by his adoring wife, Adair, his children and grandchildren, Judy Chambers, Lori Husa, Steve King, Dave King, and his lifelong grade school friend, Gil Pederson, friends, and neighbors at Cristwood Park in Shoreline.
A Celebration of life will be held at Calvin Presbyterian Church, Shoreline at 2:00 on Friday, May 5th 2017. Donations can be made to Prisoners for Christ (prisonersforchrist.org ) or Boy Scouts of America.
