John grew up in Bellingham where he attended school, graduated from college, and entered the Army where he served with a Special Projects Group in Maryland.
John married Ruth Johanson on September 10, 1955. They resided in Maryland until completing his tour of duty. After which they returned to Washington State where he received a teaching certificate from Western Washington University.
John taught in the Seattle School District for twenty-five years, retiring to pursue his interests in gardening, genealogy, and photography. After Ruth?s retirement they purchased a motor home and have spent the last seven years traveling.
John is survived by Ruth his wife of forty-nine years. His sister: Mary Ellen, four children: Michael, Roger, Margaret, and Barbara. Grandchildren: Moria, Joshua, Nathan, Caleb, and Collin. Great grandchild: Mary Ann and numerous nieces and nephews.
