James (Jim) Foster passed away on June 25, 2016, after a brief battle with cancer. Jim was born on August 31, 1950. He grew up in West Seattle and then moved to Everett, Wash. and graduated from Cascade High School in 1968. He moved to Snohomish, Wash. in 1975. Jim served in the U.S. Army and fought in the Vietnam War. He co-owned Best Drywall for 30 years. Jim loved baseball and enjoyed many years of coaching and cheering on his son, Max. He was very active in North Snohomish Little League and Maltby Pony Baseball where he was involved with several state championship teams. After his years of coaching he enjoyed following the careers of the athletes he had been involved with over the years. Jim had a strong work ethic and was adamant that "you never say you CAN'T do something. Absolutely nothing is impossible". Jim's greatest accomplishment was raising Max and was so proud of the young man he has become. Jim enjoyed spending time visiting with his many friends at Doc and Ann's Tavern in Machias. He is survived by his beloved son, Max; sister, Viola Tasler, brother, Elmer (Wanda) Foster, five nieces and four nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Catherine Foster, sister Elma Wallin, brother-in-law, Bob Tasler and nephew, Steve Tasler. A celebration of life will be held on July 15, 2016, from 4 – 7 p.m. at The Buzz Inn, Snohomish, WA.
