Ginny and Linda,
I wrote a very long message about Helen and all the years we lived next door to each other.  I don't know what happened to it and I'm so sorry it hasn't been printed here.  Barbara let me about Helen's passing a few days ago and we have been emailing back and forth frequently about our childhood together.  Helen taught me to eat peas out at her pea patch without shelling the peas.  I loved to eat peas that way.  Of course you had to spit out the strings, but you got so much flavor.  I always envied the size of your family because there was so much conversation at the table for meals.  Ours seemed dull and boring in comparison.  
Helen was calm when I showed up at your house with a burned hand from making candied apples.  Helen filled the sink with cold water and had me put my hand in the water.  Barbara couldn't pull the candy from my hand (and I guess I couldn't either) but Helen knew the candy would come off in the water.  
I have such fond memories of our childhood together.  Because I am a year older than Ginny there was no one around for me to play with a couple years.  So I talked to Helen when she was out in the garden.  I do remember when we were very young we used to sled from your backyard to our backyard!  Both Helen and my Mom could see us from their kitchen windows.  That was before you moved into the house that Ray built.
It would be very fun to get together with you two, we'd have so many memories to share.
My condolences to you and your families.  I'm sure you have wonderful memories of your Mom - Helen lived a good life.

Dear Ginny and Lynda~
Kay and I have been emailing each other about our memories of your mother....our second mother after our Mom went to work. Kay has some great memories that she told me about and I hope you both email us so we can share. Helens Memorial was wonderful and Kay and I would love to have an opportunity to stay in touch. Take care of yourselves and know this one will take some time to get by....but your Mothers love is forever.

Dear Family and old neighbors~
I was saddened to hear about your Mothers passing. She and Linda attended my mothers Memorial in 2005....it was so good to see both of them.
You were a family I grew up with...your Mom was always good to me. I ran to her one day when Kay was chasing me with a frying pan...God knows what I'd done...Helen quickly seperated us and calmed us down.
I have nothing but good memories growing up....and having Helen there as a sensible and loving Mother.
I hope to see you all Friday.

I will miss Aunt Helen so much....she has been a huge part of my life forever..she loved all her nieces and nephews...always caring, loving and fun...we shared lots of laughter and giggles especially when my Mother, Aunt Ruby, her sisters, were together..so much love surrounded us all, my heart is sad for all her children and families, yet I know we will meet again one day and rejoice.

Aunt Helen you are going to be missed so very much!!  You helped so many people in the family and you did it with such love and caring.  I had so much fun at your house, and those fun times at your cabin on the water in Clinton (Whidbey Island).  I am so thankful you let Janet spend summers with me, giving us happy memories and a closeness that is eternal.  You lived a life full of greatness, always a gracious lady with laughter and funny stories.  I can't believe you are gone....looking forward to seeing you again on the other side with all the rest.  I believe you are watching and only a thought away!!  I love you Aunt Helen!!! Rest in Peace!!

Ginny, Linda, Janet, Don, Larry, I am so sorry for your loss, i will miss seeing her, she was such a great Aunt, and a good person.  see you friday
