Born October 11, 1906 in Cleveland, Ohio died at peace on Saturday, October 16, 2010 in Kirkland, Washington – at 104 years and 5 days – at the “Changing Seasons” Adult Home Care residence. He flew home to Jesus on the wings of a soaring eagle into the heavens. Harvey was predeceased by his beloved wife of 67 years, Esther, who passed away in 2000. Harvey and Esther traveled by air and sea to many magnificent places on earth. He is survived by two sons: Harvey, III and Clarke and dear friends Margaret Davidson, Mary Ross, Stephanie and Bruce Hilton, Tim Bendokas, Milt Shannon, the ladies and gentlemen of Seattle Rotary #4 and his many friends at the University Village Burgermaster. Harvey was a 1929 graduate from Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio – with a degree in Industrial Engineering. He was a lineman on the Buckeye football team. In Seattle, he was owner/operator of C.M. Lovsted, Inc. and Commercial Heat Treaters, Inc. Harvey belonged to many professional, civic and service organizations – including his beloved Seattle Rotary Club #4 where he served on the Visiting Rotarian Reception Desk the week prior to his death. He was a Paul Harris Fellow with Rotary; so honored by David A. Ederer. He was a 65+ year member of the Masonic Order having reached 32nd degree and Nile Shrine. With his sons, Harvey served as Assistant Scoutmaster of BSA Troop 181 and as Dad Advisor of University Order of DeMolay. He was a member of University Presbyterian Church where he served as Sunday School Greeter for many years. His longevity was enhanced by the care and concern of his personal physician, John G. Doces, MD. A Cremation and inurnment will be performed by Acacia Memorial Park, Seattle. No services are planned at this time.
