A Tribute to Frieda Seafeldt: A Life Well Lived
Today, we gather to honor and celebrate the life of Frieda Seafeldt, a remarkable woman whose legacy will forever resonate in the hearts of her family and friends. Born on August 8, 1928, in the picturesque town of Southport, England, Frieda’s journey was marked by love, resilience, and a deep commitment to her family and community. She left us peacefully on September 29, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones, a fitting farewell for someone who dedicated her life to nurturing and uplifting those around her.
Frieda’s love story began in the vibrant streets of London during the 1940s, where she met Albert Seafeldt, the love of her life, where he was stationed as a Marine. Their romance blossomed amidst the challenges of distance, with three long years of waiting and longing before Frieda made the courageous journey across the Atlantic. Braving the rough waters aboard the HMS Queen Elizabeth, she arrived in New York City, and on February 22, 1949, their love was sealed in marriage — a union that would last until Albert’s passing, filled with joy, adventure, and unwavering support for one another.
As they settled into their new life, Frieda embraced the roles of wife and mother with an open heart. In February 1950, she welcomed her first son, Edward, followed by her second son, Albert Carl IV. Their family flourished in Bremerton, Washington, then North Seattle, where Frieda’s nurturing spirit shone brightly. She was not just a mother; and a source of strength for her sons. Frieda instilled in them the values of kindness, hard work, and compassion — traits that they carry into their own lives as they raise their children.
In the 1970s, the Seafeldt family embarked on a new adventure when they moved to Oahu, Hawaii, during Albert’s military service. This chapter of their lives was filled with sun-drenched days and the joy of exploring a new culture, but no matter where they lived, Frieda’s heart always remained anchored in family. After their time in Hawaii, they returned to the Pacific Northwest, where Frieda and Albert built their dream home in Innis Arden in 1988, overlooking the stunning Puget Sound. It became a sanctuary for family gatherings and memories.
Frieda’s passions were as vibrant as her spirit. She found joy in writing, keeping in touch with friends and loved ones through heartfelt letters and e-mails. An active member of the Mormon Church, she dedicated countless hours to Bible studies and supporting missionaries with unwavering faith, embodying the values she held dear.
Throughout the 80s and 90s, Frieda and Albert traveled extensively, to Europe and the Middle East. She often recounted stories of their travels, her eyes sparkling with joy as she relived the moments of wonder and discovery.
As we bid farewell to Frieda, let us carry forward her legacy of love, kindness, and strength. She may have departed from this world, but her spirit will forever remain a guiding light in our lives. Nana, we love you dearly and will hold your memory close in our hearts. Thank you for everything. Your love will continue to inspire us, just as you always did.
