Elmira Joyce Johnson

Born August 23, 1938 in Bay City, MI; passed away September 9, 2020 in Marysville WA at age 82.

In 1957 she married Frederick Richard Johnson USAF, where they were based in Merced, CA; eventually being transferred to England, Spokane WA., and Tucson, AZ., until retiring in 1975 and moving to WA. in 1977, where they lived in Everett before settling in Arlington for many years until Joyce became ill. Joyce enjoyed singing, gardening, family, and above all, her strong Christian Faith. Survived by her beloved husband of 63 years, Frederick “Dick” Johnson; son, Richard (Nicki) Johnson; daughters, Julie (Pete) Gomez, Debbie (Phil) Watkins, Jenni (David) Steinhauer and Christine Murray; grandchildren: Peter (Tiffany), & Robin (Staci) Gomez, Brent (Kathryn) & Bryan Watkins, Joshua, Abigail & Kristen Steinhauer, Autumn (Nathan) Wigen, Josiah, Ian, Kyle, Elijah & Melody Murray; great-grandchildren: Jaclyn, Peter, James, Nathan, Alexandria & Kaley Gomez, Tiara, Violet & Isaac Gomez and Hayley Wigen. Also survived by her sisters, Hazel Elliott, Geraldine, Lisa, and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents, Lewis and Irma Welker; brother, James Welker and sisters, Dorothy Stiles and Rosemary Carpenter.
