He was born on March 30, 1931, in rural Latham to Marion and Emily (Fear) Wright.
He married Betty Bidwell on May 10, 1958, in Whitewater. They recently celebrated 55 years of marriage.
After 35 years, Dean retired from the Boeing tooling division in Wichita and then Everett, Wash. In addition, he owned a land-clearing
business. Dean enjoyed hunting, leather craftsmanship, and loved golf.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Wright; children: Susan Crook, Deanna Ice, Monte Wright, Jim Stonequist, Linda Ingram-Criger;
brother, Aaron Wright; sister, Margaret Thompson; 18 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Marion Wright and Emily Brassfield; brother, Joseph Wright; sister, Marjorie Wright; and
grandchild, Christina Criger.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 P.M., Thursday, Oct. 3, 2013, at the First Church of the Nazarene in Newton. Visitation is scheduled between 3 and 9 P.M., Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2013, at Petersen Funeral Home. The family will be present from 6 to 8 P.M.
A memorial has been set up for the First Church of the Nazarene of Newton.
