A native of Charleston, SC and a 23-year resident of Bainbridge Island, WA, Champ was the devoted husband to his beloved wife of 30 years Kelley P. Yarbrough and an amazing father to their twin children Carolyn (Cappy) Yarbrough and D. Reynolds Yarbrough. Along with his wife and children, Champ leaves behind his mother Carolyn S. Yarbrough, sister Erroll Anne Hodges (Tommy), brother Walker Yarbrough (Melissa), three nephews Walker Hodges (Morgan), Heyward Hodges and Dabney Yarbrough, mother-in-law Mary Sue Parham, and sister-in-law Helen P. Fox (Todd). Champ was predeceased by his father Dabney R. Yarbrough, III and father-in-law F. Joseph Parham, Jr.
Champ’s love of books, music, animals, good conversation, being of help to people, his dog Muzhik and simply being surrounded by his family were surpassed only by the thrill of watching his children thrive and succeed in their endeavors throughout the years. The family thanks the team at Virginia Mason Seattle who worked so hard to help him and for the abundance of support from friends and co-workers during his hospitalization.
In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to either the John Ritter Foundation for Aortic Health or Puppies Behind Bars. Evergreen Washelli Funeral Home, Seattle, WA is handling final arrangements. A memorial gathering to commemorate the life and times of our beloved Champ is being planned in Charleston, SC with details to be announced at a future date.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.Evergreen-Washelli.com for the Yarbrough family.
