February 3, 2018. Born in Seattle, he was raised in Stanwood, Wa, graduating from Stanwood High
School. He later graduated from UCLA, where he met his wife of 47 years, Jessica (Jae) Simonson
(deceased 1993) with whom he raised his family in Bellevue. In his remaining years he enjoyed
traveling with his second wife, Barbara Bonnell (deceased 2013), playing golf, and appreciating
the company of friends new and old.
Chuck established one of the first CP A firms in Bellevue in 1956, becoming senior partner until his
retirement. He was a founding member of St. Peter’s United Methodist Church in Bellevue, served as
a Bellevue City Councilman and retired Navy Reservist, as well as being an active member of
Kiwanis and Sahalee Golf Club.
Chuck is survived by his daughter Jan (Ron) Carson, son Charlie (Mia) Simonson, daughter Carol
(Mark) Wedell, 6 grandchildren (Jeff Carson; Peter & Zachary Simonson; Scott, Justin & Jessica
Wedell) and 4 great- grandchildren.
The family expresses its deep gratitude to the caregivers and management at Aegis Marymoor, as
well as Evergreen Hospice, for their compassionate care of Chuck in his final chapter.
A celebration of Chuck’s life will be held at the Belletini in Bellevue on Wednesday, February 28,
from 1-3:00 pm. He was a good friend to many and will be missed. The family requests that any remembrances be made to the charity of your choice.
