A memorial service for Carol will be held Saturday, October 22, 2022 at 1:00 PM. A memorial service will occur from 1:00 PM to 2:15 PM at Evergreen Washelli Funeral Home, 11111 Aurora Ave N, Seattle, WA 98133. A reception will occur Saturday, October 22, 2022 from 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM at Evergreen Washelli

Carol Joy Berg was born on August 23, 1935 to Herman D. and Eva K. Christopherson and raised in Seattle Washington. As a young girl she learned to play the baby grand piano which became her passion. Carol joined a band as a teenager performing at numerous venues throughout Seattle and she continued to entertain family and friends with her beautiful music throughout her life.

Though Carol had an opportunity to become a professional musician just out of high school she was drawn to becoming a nurse. Carol attended medical school and began her early career as a LPN at Children’s Hospital and then moved to Group Health where she worked over 30 years until her retirement. Carol also became the first certified Surgical Assistant in the Seattle Area and her “specialty” was neurology. She worked in the surgical department for a majority of her career and became very popular not only with her medical team but with the patients she cared for from pre-surgery, surgery, and post-surgery. Carol’s absolute priority was providing the best comfort possible and a deep compassion for all of her patients.

Carol is survived by her son Arne Berg and his wife Lori, along with twin daughters Tanya Healey and Sonya Loughnan. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren who refer to Carol as their “Grandma B”.

Carol was always so loving, caring, nurturing and always supportive of each of her kids. She was always full of joy and only wanted everyone to be happy.
