Carol-Ann Veronica Wells, age 75, of Seattle, Washington passed away Sunday, January 23, 2022. Carol-Ann was born in Eureka, California in 1947 to Raymond and Dorothy Jensen. She moved with her parents and brother to Seattle, Washington as a child, and lived the remainder of her life in the Seattle area. Throughout her life, Carol-Ann was a devout Roman Catholic. She attended Holy Names Academy and Seattle University. A life-long student, she was particularly fond of the Sacred Scriptures, and was never shy about sharing her thoughts on various biblical personalities and passages. For her entire life, she maintained a nightly prayer regimen with a list of ever-growing intentions, but in keeping with Our Lord’s call to pray in secret, she never shared those intentions with any other person, choosing instead to be as the Blessed Mother, holding them in her heart. Carol-Ann was a generous, joyous soul who nevertheless encountered considerable suffering throughout her life. The mother of thirteen children, her eldest son, Eric, died at the age of 29, and her youngest daughter, Julia, passed away as an infant. Her faith and her family fortified her though these trials. While she had little attachment to material things, she appreciated every gift – great and small – as an act of loving kindness. Much of her adult life, she worked as a waitress and later, as a cashier aboard the Washington State ferries. Her work brought her considerable happiness, and she valued in these professions the opportunity to talk with many people. Carol-Ann is survived by Donald McElhose, her husband of 43 years, as well as her children Theresa, Wanda, Dorothy, Vernon, Mary, Patrick, Donald Andrew, Stephen, Daniel, John and Kenneth, as well as numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings Raymond Jensen, Robert Jensen, Cindy Richardson, Julie Panick, Karen Hignite and Missy Dunlap. She is preceded in death by her children Eric Wells, Julia McElhose, and her parents.
