Calvin Weimer

He was the son of the late Roy Weimer and Clara Wyer Weimer Stullenberger. He was preceded in death by his daughter Julie Weimer, brothers Jim and Al Weimer, a sister, Christine McVay, and his second wife, Norma Jones Weimer.

Calvin was born in the middle of an apple orchard on January 15, 1933, in East Wenatchee, Washington. He served his country by joining the National Guard. In the early 1950’s his unit was activated due to the Korean War. He completed stints in Texas and Mobile, Alabama. He attended North Central High School in Spokane, Washington. Although forced to leave High School before graduation due to the activation of his National Guard Unit, he completed his GED. He finished one year of college at Bob Jones University. Most of his life was spent in the Seattle area and Alaska as an airframe repairman and as a Production Planner for Lockheed Shipyards.

In 1989, he moved to Greensboro, NC after finding the love of his life, Susan Weimer. He spent 32 wonderful years in North Carolina exploring both the mountains and the coast. He was an active member of the Piedmont Bird Club and was probably a surrogate father to over 1,000 baby blue birds. He was a woodsman at heart and loved the birds and native wildlife of North Carolina. Canoeing was one of his favorite past times, covering all the lakes in the Greensboro area.

He is survived by his wife, Susan Weimer; one daughter, Deborah Duran; two granddaughters, Michele Lewis and Linda McNabb; two great-grandchildren, Simone Bell and Alexander Hicks; two great-great-grandchildren, Ronan and Brenna Bell.

He was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church in Greensboro, NC. There is no funeral or visitation service planned. His ashes will be interred at Evergreen Washelli Cemetery in Seattle, Washington.
