Age 89, was guided from her Everett, Washington home into rest by The Lord on Sunday, September 22, 2013. She was born in Scottdale, Pennsylvania to Harry Allen and Sara Violet (Cowan) Coughenour on November 20, 1923. She attended Crucible High School. Following her education, she met her best friend and love of her life, Theodore O. McCann. They wed on September 25, 1945 in Gadsden, Alabama and proceeded to start their family.
Betty enjoyed many hobbies such as reading, bowling, crocheting, and solving puzzles. She also participated with the Quilters Group at her local Lutheran Church. Betty was always grateful for and cherished most of all her faith and family, especially her four grandchildren.
Betty is preceded in death by her parents, Harry Allen and Sara Viola (Cowan) Coughenour; sister, Muriel McLain; great-nephew, Michael Minton; great great-nephew, Trevor House; two brothers-in-law, Robert Hall and Robert McLain.
She leaves behind her husband of 68 years, Theodore; three children, Michele (McCann) & Jerry Cesario; Daniel & Teresa McCann, and Sallie (McCann) & John Sandstrom; four grandchildren, Jon Cesario, Rory Sandstrom, Brian Sandstrom, Tessa Sandstrom; sister, Ardith Hall; nieces, Linda (McLain) Minton, Carol (McLain) Holmes, Patricia (Hall) Totten, Jan (Hall) White, and Dana Hall; great-niece, Lisa (Minton) House, great-nephew, Patrick R. White; first cousin, John Scott Mulhorn; many loving extended family and friends.
An amazing wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother and friend. We will always appreciate the blessing of her being a part of our lives each and every day. We love you beyond words.
A memorial service will be held at Acacia Funeral Home in Seattle on Friday, Sept. 27, 2013 at 2PM.
