Alice Miyoko Nakamura passed away peacefully at home on July 26, 2022 at the age of 98, surrounded by her family. She was born on February 9, 1924 in Seattle, Washington to Yukio (Ralph) and Yone Kono. She attended school in Seattle until she and her family were interned in the Minidoka Internment Camp located in Jerome, Idaho. After being released, she returned to Seattle where she married Kay Nakamura. They loved driving across the US to attend drum and bugle corps competitions, clam digging, and mushroom hunting. Alice and Kay shared 41 years together until his passing in 1989.
Alice was known for her generosity and humor. She loved cooking and spending time with loved ones. She enjoyed playing cards and continued to play online until her late 80’s. She would never turn down an invitation to go to lunch or a chance to play slots at the casino.
Alice is survived by three daughters, Susan, Robin, and April, and special daughter Karyn, one son, Van, brother Philip, 3 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
