Ricky Jacobs, born on November 17, 1952, in Monterey County, California, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula in Monterey, California. He was 72 years old.
Ricky grew up in Seaside and Pacific Grove, California, and graduated from Pacific Grove High School. Following his graduation, he honorably served in the United States Marine Corps as a Lance Corporal with the 4th Battalion, 11th Marine Division, stationed at the Twenty-Nine Palms Base. After completing his military service, Ricky pursued his passion for design at Monterey Peninsula College, earning an Associate of Arts degree in CAD and Architecture. He spent his career designing floor plans and drafting projects throughout the Monterey Peninsula.
An avid sports fan, Ricky faithfully supported the San Francisco 49ers, San Francisco Giants, and Los Angeles Lakers. He also enjoyed woodworking, crafting cabinets for his home, and restoring intricate furniture designs. Ricky found joy in the outdoors, often biking and walking around the peninsula. A music enthusiast, he treasured attending Boz Scaggs concerts at the Monterey State Theatre.
A significant highlight of Ricky’s life came in recent years when he was reunited with his only child, his son Matthew Chad White of Nashua, New Hampshire, and his granddaughter, Rose Lilly White. This connection brought him immense joy, and he embraced his role as a proud father and grandfather with enthusiasm.
Ricky is survived by his son Matthew Chad White; granddaughter Rose Lilly White; brothers James Jacobs (Jennifer) of Seaside, Tony Jacobs and Mark Ruckman of Stockton, Larry Jacobs of Ohio; sister Maria “Sissy” Brannan of Louisiana; and his aunt Enedina Nadine Jacobs of Seaside. He also leaves behind many cousins across Mexico, Oregon, Utah, Colorado, Florida, and California.
A Viewing and Visitation will be held on Monday, December 23, 2024, from 3:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Bayside Community Mortuary, 1610 Noche Buena Street, Seaside, CA. A Celebration of Life will follow on Tuesday, December 24, 2024, at 9:00 a.m., with burial and Military Honors immediately afterward at California Central Coast Veterans Cemetery, 2900 Parker Flats Road, Seaside, CA.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the medical staff at Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula, Forest Hill Manor Care Facility, and Cypress Ridge Care Facility for their compassionate care during Ricky’s illness. May he rest in peace until the day of resurrection.
