In 1952, she met her future husband Charles, a U.S. Army Soldier stationed in France. They wed in 1954 in her hometown of Périgueux, France.
Charles was stationed at Fort Ord in 1964 and they settled in Seaside where they raised 3 daughters. They were married 60 years before his passing in 2014.
During her 60 years in Seaside, she was a loving wife and mother who loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and cat. She was an artist, becoming a member of The Seaside Art Commission in the 1970’s where she won first place for one of her acrylic paintings, “Anemones.” She was an avid bowler, bowling in multiple leagues on the Peninsula. She enjoyed gardening, playing bingo with her friends, and dining out at local restaurants with a special fondness for desserts.
She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles, her parents as well as her siblings. She is survived by her daughters Evelyn Rosales, Sandra (Richard) Gilliam, and Sylvia Tucker, all of Seaside, CA; granddaughter Christina (Roman) DelRosario and their children Rosie, Tiarra, and Ahalo all of Las Vegas, NV; grandson Lawrence Rosales of Seaside, CA, and his children, with Sydney, Logan and Brooklyn of Salinas, CA.
Jeannine’s family wishes to extend their immense gratitude and appreciation to her primary care physician of over 30 years, Dr. Cindy Lee; Dr Lee’s medical assistant Chelsea Olson, and VNA Hospice.
Vigil will be held 3:30pm-6:30pm Tuesday, September 10th, at Bayside Community Mortuary, 1610 Noche Buena St., Seaside.
Funeral Mass will be held at 9:30am Wednesday, September 11th at San Carlos Cathedral, 500 Church Street in Monterey followed by interment at San Carlos Cemetery, 792 Fremont Street, Monterey.
