On August 4, 1936, Ruby Jean Larson Pate was born in
Clifton, Texas, to Leslie and Lorene Seipert Larson. The
Larson Family later moved to the Dallas area where Ruby
attended school. She graduated from North Dallas High
School, and went on to a business school to learn
shorthand and typing. Such skills later helped her
acquire a position at the Hartford Insurance Agency,
where she worked until she retired. During her spare
time she enjoyed traveling on cruise ships where she did
what came to her naturally, talking to people. She never
found a stranger no matter where she went. When she
was home she was caring for family members. She often
recalled fond memories of family dinners and playing
games of Canasta.
Ruby is survived by daughter Debra, husband Terry and
granddaughter Rachel Mayo, of Tool, Texas; grandson
Derek, wife Kristin and daughter Jessie Mayo, of Frisco,
Texas; Sean Mayo and fiancee, Brittany Von Behren, of
Dallas, Texas; grandsons Kaleb Mayo and Ian Mayo of
Addison, Texas; brothers Clarence Larson and Leslie
Larson of Seagoville, Texas; and cousin David Larson of
Waxahachie, Texas. She is also survived by numerous
nieces, nephews, and grandnieces and grandnephews
whom she loved dearly. Ruby is predeceased by her
parents Leslie and Lorene Larson, daughter Bonnie Jean
Pate, and sisters Jane A. Nutt and Roylene Larson.
