Larry Wayne Ellis

Larry Wayne Ellis, age 73, of Royse City, Texas passed away peacefully on Friday July 13, 2018 at Presbyterian Hospital of Rockwall. Larry was born August 28, 1944 in Dallas, Texas to Ernest Leon Ellis and Mary Maggie Lou Reed. He married Rebecca (Becky) Susan Chambers on February 12, 1965 in Seagoville, Texas.

Larry is preceded in death by his parents Ernest Ellis and Mary Reed as well as his brother Donald Joe.

Larry is survived by his wife Becky of 53 years; daughters Vicki, her husband Kelly Jones, Sheryl and her fiancé Wayne Blankenship. Grandchildren: Yvonne and her husband Todd Sullivan, Wayne Garcia and his wife Elizabeth, Stephen Rose and his wife Candice, Justin Garcia, Joshua Garcia, Heather and her husband Shawn Reynolds, two sisters Linda Lou Hogle and Debra Kay Brown along with nineteen wonderful great grandchildren.

Larry was a volunteer fireman for the Seagoville Fire Department for 31 years. We were grateful that when he retired from the department they retired his helmet and coat as well. Larry would usually be the first one at the station when the alarm went off because he loved his volunteer work for the fire department. We can remember many occasions leaving church just to follow the smoke so he could do his part. He also worked full time as an "over the road" truck driver for Roadway Express and actively competed in truck rodeos and won several trophies up until his retirement.

Larry and Becky loved to travel and see new places which they did as time allowed.
