She was born on September 15, 1957 in Dallas, Texas to Horace Clinton Drinning and Freddie Lee Green. Kathy was raised in Dallas, Texas and during her younger years, Kathy helped her mother and siblings operate a local burger restaurant. After completing her high school education, she graduated from Remington College in 1980. She then became a Medical Assistant and X-Ray Technician (among other things) at Medical City Dallas, where she worked for over 30 years. She had three children.
In her spare time, Kathy enjoyed walking her dogs, listening to music, and reading her Bible.
