I miss you a little more each day.

We have really missed our dear friend, Jimmy Weaver, who passed away 1 year ago today.
Not a day has gone by that we have not thought of him and his family.  He was a dear friend.

Just learned I lost my best friend jimmy weaver. We were best friends since age 12 until we graduated from North mesquite 1972. I even worked with him when we printed the mesquite news paper.  Our best days were fishing at Samuel Park via bicycle. Finally,jimmy was first of the group to get a car so we ran around in his vehicle. I can't begin to tell you how many times we had to push start it. Great times with jimmy and bad times. I was present when he lost his mom to cancer. We helped him through the ordeal.  I lost track of jimmy when he joined the navy. Vietnam War was still ongoing and he wanted to go into selective service. The group of friends was billy landsdale, Ricky Rucker, Gene Parker and of course me, James king. 

I had the pleasure of working with Jimmy for several years.   My business partner and I will forever be grateful he would work with us when we first started and continued to be a big part of our business as we grew.

Also, Jimmy was instrumental in pushing my sons name up the channels and helping him receive a congressional appointment to the United States Navel Academy.  My son graduated last May from Annapolis as a newly commissioned ensign and is now in Pensacola about start flight training.  Forever grateful!!  Rest In Peace my friend.

It seems like every time me and Jimmy went off there was a story to tell. Like the time we all bought the land at Peeltown. Me and Jimmy were so excited that we jumped into Jimmy's truck, left the title company and went straight to the land and the first thing we did was got Jimmy's work truck stuck!! Another time, we were going night fishing in Daddy's old fishing boat. We bought 2 or 3 boxes of TV Bait Shrimp. We fished 'til after midnight. When we got home, Jimmy cooked what was left of the bait shrimp, woke up mama and she came in there hollering " WHAT IS THAT SMELL?" And there sat Jimmy, eating that bait shrimp!

One of my most memorable times with Jimmy was in Cozumel, Mexico.  We rented a Hobie Cat (which is a trampoline with 2 pontoons, a sail and a rudder). Jimmy, Joe, Timmy and myself went out on a beautiful day. We drifted beyond the turquois water into dark blue water. No wind and the sun was cooking us. Joe's feet were burnt. I was so scared that I was teary eyed. Jimmy said " Have a little faith Nean, I'll get us back". We were caught in the current between Cozumel and mainland Mexico. Jimmy kept clicking the rudder trying to catch some wind. I stood up and waved my arms at a passing boat. Timmy took my hand and I sat back down. Three hours later, we were towed back to land by a dive boat (after waving the other boat away). Great memory!

Dear Papaw, 

You were an amazing person. You started teaching me to drive and guess what! I’m getting my license next week :) 
Everyone misses you. I miss getting in your truck every morning and having to wait for you to move all of your papers to the back so I would have room to sit. Everything about you was so unique and recognizable. I’m so glad that I was able to grow up with you and I admired your values and hard work. You did amazing things, you accomplished so much. I hope that we all make you proud papaw,

My dad was an inspiring man. He taught me everything in life. Guided me, loved me and protected me. I couldn’t have had a better father. He will truly be missed and always be loved dearly.

Jimmy was truly a great boss and friend. I walked in his office one day and saw him looking at a "buried treasures" web site. I told him those things are addictive! He said oh I know. When I told him my uncle owned sections of land in Arizona. That was all it took. We made two trips to Arizona to explore the desert! Jimmy had a ball. We paned for gold, looked for artifacts and helped each other dig cactus needles out of our hides. Jimmy will truly be missed! We will keep the Weaver family in our prayers!

papa was the greatest grandpa i could ever ask for. i’m going to miss you so much. say hi to cosmo for me❤️

Papa was the hardest working and strongest man I knew. He was someone that anyone could look up to and I most certainly do. He could be a man of few words at times but when he did say something he could make the whole room laugh. I knew if I ever needed any help that I could go to him with no hesitation and he’d try his best to help out. He’ll be missed by many. Love you papa. 

We all play scrabble. At his turn it seemed it would take him for ever.  “It’s gonna be a good one , hold on , hold on.  Then he’d put down the word que in like a triple letter triple word and get about 50 points.

I am so proud of the hard work and accomplishments you achieved your short time on Earth.  May God bless the amazing man you are .  Until we meet again, your loving Sister.

Papa, how blessed I was to grow up in such a loving environment from you and Marilyn. I’m gonna miss you more than you’ll know, say hi to little Gidget, she was your favorite;) 

Hello dear friend. 

I last talked to you almost a month ago and it seems like ages. I should have told you  how much I appreciated your friendship, your knowledge and mentoring but I had no idea that it would be the last time we would speak.  I see things that I want to ask you about but I pick up my phone and realize you wont be there.  

I met your beautiful children yesterday as we laid you to rest.  I know you were a proud husband, father and grandfather. 

I will forever be grateful for all you taught me about politcs, history and patriotism. and I will make sure to keep fighting for our county, our state and our country.  I know you will be watching from heaven.  Rest well, Jimmy. We are lost without you but we will see you again one day. 

I first met Marilyn Weaver at the Crandall church of Christ.  I met her again a few weeks later a  political meeting.  We became very good friends, and through Marilyn, I met Jimmy.  
Jimmy asked me to help the Precint chair in our town work his campaign for Kaufman County Republican Chairman.  While working on Jimmy’s campaign, I learned a lot about him.  Jimmy was a Patriot, he loved this county and this country.  His Judeo-Christian values, his love for his family and his drive to save our nation was unlike any I have ever seen.  Jimmy Weaver was the most patriotic, honest, sincere, and caring  person I have ever met, other than my husband.  God did not make many men like Jimmy Weaver.  We love you and we will miss you but we will never forget you.  May you Rest In Peace my dear friend.

I always admired Jimmy. He was such an intelligent individual, who had multiple interests. I was always amazed to see what he was reading up on. I remember one day recently,  I came to his home, and he was reading and watching a documentary on crossing different plants together,  to get a stronger and enhanced version of both. Never ceased to amaze me . Always learning, and striving to know and do better . Such individuals are few . He will be missed.

I will forever be heartbroken without you here. You were the best father a girl could ask for. The most amazing man I’ve ever met and I will forever cherish our memories and love.  I love you daddy.   Your little girl.

I worked with Jimmy for several years and I always thought he was a great person.


I served on the GSSUD board with Jimmie.  He was such a great addition and had a servants heart.  He was a wealth of business knowledge and always ready to offer guidance and advice.  He will be sorely missed.  Our prayers of peace to his family.
