Higinio H. Hernandez of Dallas, Texas went home the Lord on May 17, 2015. He was born in Kaufman, Texas on February 11, 1923 to B.F. Hernandez and Felicitaz H. (Martinez) Hernandez. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Amelia, brother Ramon H. Hernandez, brother Raymond H. Hernandez, and sister Cruz Delgado. Left with treasured memories are his daughter Joann Varela & husband Jesus, son Higinio Hernandez Jr. & wife Esmeralda, son Steve Hernandez & wife Patty, son Robert Hernandez & wife Erika, son John Villanueva, son Eucevio Villanueva, 13 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, sister Andrea Cruz & husband Polo, sister Lupe Herrera, sister Esther H Barba & husband Rene` and numerous other family loved ones. Higinio was a kind hearted man with unending drive and a passion to learn new skills. When he was young he worked in an ice cream store where he made and sold ice cream. Later on he learned how to sew and became a tailor, eventually owning his own business. He was the owner and operator of “Fashion Tailors” in Dallas, Texas for many years. Higinio taught his skills to many family members who eventually became tailors also. After retiring as a tailor he moved to Arkansas where he worked in a tire store that he had purchased. He enjoyed baking pies. He also enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys and the Texas Ranger. Higinio was a wonderful story teller. He always had a story to tell about events he personally witnessed. He was loved very much and will be greatly missed.
