Gary Wayne Kirby, age 62, entered into rest on August 27, 2024 in Kaufman, Texas. He entered into life on March 8, 1962 in Dallas, Texas, to parents, Gaston and Sue Kirby. He was raised in Dallas, Texas, and graduated from H. Grady Spruce High School.
Later on in his life he worked as a bricklayer for Forum Masonry and was employed there for more than 40 years.
In his spare time, Gary enjoyed drinking beer, sports, hunting, fishing, skeet shooting, and woodworking.
His family and friends will always remember him as a hard working, beer drinking, bs'er who would always give you the shirt off of his back. He always had an ear for listening and a love for old western movies. Gary was a good old boy who was kind, loving, and the devotion he had for his family was unmatched.
He is preceded in death by his father, Gaston Kirby; his mother, Sue Kirby; his wife, Diana Kirby; his sons, Dustin Dunman and Woody Strain.
Gary is survived by his son, Hudson; daughter, Lacy Wright; sister, Paula Kirby; brother, Ronnie Kirby; Aunt, Mary Lackey; granddaughter, Karlie Wright; nephew, Randy Kirby; great nephews, Klinton Kirby and Cooper Kirby; great niece, Krystin Kirby; a host of other family, and many friends.
Gary and Paula had a special bond even through all of their differences. They had an unconditional love for one another.
He will be truly, deeply missed by all who knew him.
A visitation for Gary will be held Tuesday, September 3, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Roselawn Funeral Home, 1000 S Highway 175, Seagoville, TX 75159. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, September 3, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, 1000 S Highway 175, Seagoville, TX 75159. A committal service will occur Tuesday, September 3, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, 1000 S Hwy 175, Seagoville, TX 75159.
Serving as pallbearers are Brady Robertson, Klinton Kirby, Randy Kirby, Bobby Kirby, David Archer, Brian LeFlore, Herschel Maddox and Nick Kirby.
