Donna Diane Whitley

Donna Whitley, of Seagoville, Texas, passed away on Saturday, November 23rd in Mesquite, Texas. She will always be remembered as a fun and caring spouse, loving mother, daughter, sister and friend to all that knew her. She was born on June 06, 1956 in Overton, Texas to Russell Spangler and Bertha Self.

Donna grew up in East Texas, spending time in Arp, Nacogdoches, Douglas and Kilgore before moving to the DFW area in the early 70s. After high school she met John and instantly fell in love. They were married in 1979 and the birth of their son Josh would soon follow. Donna spent the next 45 years nurturing and supporting her family and friends during ups and downs and adventures near and far. She absolutely loved cooking and cooking shows. She was a huge of classic movies, especially horror movies – she never missed Saturday nights with Svengoolie.

Donna is survived by her loving husband John Whitley Jr. of Seagoville, Texas, son and daughter-in-law, Joshua and Rochelle Whitley and granddaughter Indigo Smith of Springfield, Missouri, mother, Bertha Moncrief of Goodrich, Texas, sisters Jennifer Evans of Texas City, Texas and Shelley Anderson of Galveston, Texas, along with numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father Russell Spangler.
