Dennis B. Dyer, 88, passed away peacefully at his home on April 20, 2017 in Dallas. He was born on May 26, 1928 to Homer Everett and Mary Belle (Price) Dyer in Pikeville, Tennessee. Dennis was born and raised in Tennessee before moving to Detroit, MI in the 1950’s, where he was able to find work to support and grow his family. He was employed at Pacific Intermountain Express for over 25 years. He was also a life member and a 32nd Degree Shriner of the Centerline Masonic Lodge in Michigan, where he was very active and loved to help the children. Dennis was a very hard-working and loyal man. He demonstrated this when his father passed away when Dennis was in the 8th grade and he took over the care and support of his mother and younger sibling. Dennis also loved a good joke and was a frequent visitor to the funeral home while visiting his beloved wife in the cemetery. He would always bring candy and a joke and we referred to him as the “Candyman”. Preceding him in death are his parents Homer and Mary Dyer; wife, Faye Nell Dyer; son, Richard Dyer; grandson, Aaron Dyer; brothers: J.C. Dyer, Clifford Dyer and Verlon Dyer. Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter Debra Garcia and husband, Robert; brother Odell Dyer and wife, Grace; grandchildren: Nancy Garcia Meza and husband, Frank; Robert A. Garcia and wife, Norma; eight great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law Denise Dyer; and a host of extended family members and friends that will miss him dearly. Family will host a gathering of friends on Friday, April 28, 2017, from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., followed by interment, where he will be laid to rest in the Garden of Peace. All services will be at Roselawn Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens in Seagoville, TX. Please leave condolences for the family at www.Roselawn-Funerals.com.
