Tina Jeffries McEown, beloved wife, mother, and friend to so many, passed away on September 27th 2021 at the age of 66. She was passionate about her Lord, attending Living Streams Church and faithfully participating in her weekly ladies’ prayer group. Tina’s favorite scripture was, “My grace is sufficient for thee. My strength is made perfect in weakness.” II Corinthians 12:9.
Tina was born on August 7th, 1955. She attended Scottsdale High School and Scottsdale Community College. After college, Tina lived in Tuba City where she worked at Margaret’s Southwestern Indian Post. A few years later she married Dr. James McEown on October 22nd, 1983. Together they enjoyed the Arts, especially creating works of Bonsai. They also enjoyed traveling to Israel and Scotland, and gathering regularly with family.
Tina pursued a lifelong love of selling antiques and Southwestern Art. She was an astute and successful antique dealer, known throughout Scottsdale and the valley for her keen expertise.
Besides antiques and interior design, Tina had a heart for the helpless and the hopeless, people and animals alike. She took in young people who needed a place to call home. She cared for strays and any animal that needed shelter. But most of all, Tina loved her family with a deep devotion.
Tina’s surviving relatives are her husband Dr. Jim McEown and her children, Rachel and Dylan, whom she loved dearly. Also surviving is her sister Linda Porter. Tina was preceded in death by her father, H. Vance Jeffries, and her mother, Ethelda M. Jeffries.
What will we miss most about Tina? Her laugh. Her tears. Her hugs. Her unfailing love for family member and friends. The good news? We will see Tina again, for we know that our Redeemer lives!
