Bob was born in Cedar Bluff, Virginia on March 8, 1937 to Robert Andersen and Freda Verginia Howard.
He obtained a Master's degree from Arizona State University.
He had a career in nuclear power as an engineer for 30 plus years, and assisted in the development of heat shields for the Apollo mission.
He married his loving wife, Beverly Ann Howard, on June 9, 1990 in Mesa, Arizona. They did everything together.
Bob was passionate about his grandchildren, politics, the ocean and sailing, and playing guitar and piano.
He always found time to escape to the Superstition Mountains with family for adventures, and never missed an opportunity to tell stories about those trips.
Bob is survived by his wife, Beverly Ann Howard; his children, Julie Boegner, and Aaron and Alan Chatters; his grandchildren, Billy, Chris, Fern, Grace, Casey, Hillary, and Fawn; his great-grandchildren, Yulie and E.J.; as well as his sister, Barbara Padelford.
A service will be held on Friday, November 1, 2024 at 12:00PM at Green Acres Mortuary & Cemetery, 401 North Hayden Road, Scottsdale, AZ 85257, followed by a graveside service and catered reception.
