Paul Allen "Chip" Holliday died of liver cancer on June 23, 2012 at his home in Scottsdale, Arizona. Paul was born in Bellburn, West Virginia and raised in nearby Rainelle. He graduated from Greenbrier West High School in 1971, the same year he enlisted in the Marine Corps, where he served throughout Asia during the Vietnam era. Paul worked as a coal miner before joining General Parts, Inc. as a delivery truck driver at the age of 23. Rising through the ranks into management, Paul worked for GPI/Carquest in Raleigh,NC; Asheville, NC; Columbia, SC; Lakeville, MN; and Phoenix, where he served as Distribution Center Operations Manager. During his nearly-36 year career at Carquest, Paul hired, trained and worked with many talented people and took great pleasure in their successes and career advancement. He enjoyed all aspects of his job, especially the friendships he fostered with co-workers and customers. Paul enjoyed riding motorcycles, golfing with buddies, the Arizona heat and the Rusty Spur. He believed in family, friends and faith, and built his life around them. Paul is survived by his wife, Emily Shelton Holliday of Scottsdale, AZ; son Joshua Holliday and his wife Ashley of Murray, KY; grand-daughter Lyla Reese Holliday of Murray; sister Donna (Brandt) Cullen of Raleigh, NC; uncle Herb (Bonnie) Holliday of Bellburn, WV; cousins Cindie Holliday of Bellburn and Kathy Ingram of Amelia Court House, VA. He was preceded in death by his parents Paul M. and Geraldine H. Holliday, and grandparents Henry "Chip" and Nina G. Holliday. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 on Tuesday, June 26, 2012 at Green Acres Mortuary, 401 North Hayden Road, Scottsdale, AZ 85257. Visitation will be held from 6-8 on Monday, June 25 at Green Acres.
