Laura Eileen Orr of Tempe Arizona aged 68 was called home by our Heavenly Father January 16th, 2019. Laura was born October 2nd, 1950 in Missouri and was preceded into the Kingdom of Heaven by her father George Gnau, her mother Renee Gnau, and her brother Dennis Gnau. Laura is survived by her two sisters Barbra Voelker and Nancee VanderPluym, her husband of 45 years Karl Orr, two sons Christopher and Michael, their wives Danielle and Amanda and four grandchildren Brayden, Benjamin, Isabella, and Joseph. Laura had many years of dedicated service to Arizona State University. Laura began her career with ASU in 1968 and continued her service to the University in the College of Public Programs School of Social Work. Laura officially retired from ASU in 2018 bringing an end to her 50 years of dedicated service to the University and its students. Laura was a longtime sports fan and could often been seen at ASU football games as well as Cardinals home games. Not only a fan of sports, but of the theatre as well. Laura enjoyed attending theatre performances and listening to recordings of Broadway plays. Laura possessing a strong work ethic and sense of equality was a devoted mother to her children and grandchildren, a faithful wife to her husband, and loyal friend to those who knew her best. Funeral services for Laura will be held at Green Acres Cemetery located at 401 N Hayden Rd Scottsdale, AZ at 1:00pm officiated by Reverend Brian Murphy. Interment will follow the service at the same location. Following the service and interment a reception will be held at 19769 E Cattle Dr. Queen Creek.
