Charmae Sheppard (Blackburn) was born to Leonard and Helen Blackburn on March 11th 1928 in Miamisburg,Ohio and died in Hospice Care on September 3rd, 2018 in Chandler Arizona. Charmae had five brothers and four sisters. Charmae was the youngest girl. After World War II she married Kiden E. Sheppard. During her 70 year marriage to Kiden they had four children; Tina Kallstedt (Married to Roland), Laura Servis (married to Gary), Edward Sheppard and Ginger Newell (Married to Robert) who all live in the East Valley. She also is survived by eight grandchildren; Kara, Eric, Kiden, Luke, Clint, Angie, Dylan, Julia and 10 great grandchildren; Jacob, Kyle, Saydie, Gareth, Kaylee, Mya, Addison, Kiden, Lauren and Macey. Kiden and Charmae moved from Dayton Ohio to Phoenix in 1956 and resided in East Phoenix for many years. After retirement they moved to Gold Canyon Arizona where they resided for 19 years. Living in the Superstition Mountains allowed Charmae to stay in shape by walking the trails every morning. Charmae’s other hobbies were playing poker with her family and friends, overnight trips to Las Vegas or Laughlin, and playing with her grandkids. Charmae also taught that in her ancestry the Blackburns migrated from Tennessee and crossed the Ohio River on a flat boat and settled in Ohio many years ago. Charmae’s services will be held at Green Acres Mortuary in Scottsdale Arizona on Friday September 14th . Viewing starts at 10am and the service is at 10:30. She will be buried along side her husband Kiden of 70 years.
