Anna Florence Boone Lutey went to be with her Saviour and husband Roger, on February 14, 2023. Anna was born in Athens, Illinois on September 27, 1937, the fifth child of Morrell and Beatrice Boone. She attended schools in Athens and graduated from Athens High School in May of 1955. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Roger, and three brothers, Richard, Leonard and Charles. She is survived by two step-daughters, Robin Hill (George) of Lake Havasu, Arizona; Jana Gooch (Patrick) of Tennessee; as well as three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Anna is also survived by two sisters, Dorine Douglas (Thomas) and Olive Boone of Chandler. She also leaves her favorite pet, Bailey, who has given her many hours of pleasure and love. Thank you, Carole, for allowing Bailey to be such a large part of her life.
Anna was a devoted Christian and a 65-year member of Beta Sigma Phi, having held many offices during that time. She sang with many organizations including Sweet Adelines and played the organ for fifteen years for the Tempe Christian Church. She was an avid tennis player, a lover of fudge and a follower of craft shows, a collector of over 700 Beanie Babies, and a true follower of ASU.
Anna was employed by the Federal Government for a number of years, and after leaving that position she worked in the hospitality industry. She was diagnosed with dementia a few years ago, a very severe diagnosis. Several other health problems resulted in her passing.
