Al Driesner was born February 7, 1926 in North Dakota. Growing up he helped his dad on the farm. Al enlisted in the Navy at the age of 20. He served as quartermaster on an YW98 ship in Newport, Rhode Island for two years. He then received a degree in Nuclear Engineering from North Dakota State University. He was selected to appear in the 1950-1951 edition of "Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges". Al worked for 33 years with atomic bombs and nuclear reactors in Los Alamos, New Mexico. Al married Jeanine on July 12, 1950 and had one son. Al enjoyed reading historical biographies and playing bridge.
