Robert E. “Bob” Ferguson, 90, of Scottsbluff was lifted into God’s arms Thursday, December 29, 2007 at Golden Living Center-Scottsbluff. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 2, 2007 at First Christian Church with Pastors Michael Stein and Vern Greenhalgh officiating. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery. Robert, the second of five sons, was born to True W. and Anna (Snyder) Ferguson, November 30, 1916 in Letcher, South Dakota. The family moved to the farmland of the Nebraska Panhandle when Bob was a pre-teen. Here he attended rural schools and graduated from Minatare High School in 1934. He married Marjorie Eckle November 24, 1940 and to this union two son, Wayne and Robert, were born. The couple spent the first years of their married life on the farm raising row crops and hay. The couple moved to Minatare, then in 1955 to Scottsbluff where Robert was a foreman at Lockwood’s Manufacturing, retiring in 1985, with the desire to travel. Marjorie passed away in 1986. Robert married Erma Seiffert July 3, 1988. The two enjoyed square dancing, traveling and working in their garden raising tomatoes and flowers. He will be remembered for his quiet ways and thought filled advice. Robert was a life-long member of the First Christian Church and belonged to the I.O.O.F. Lodge for over 50 years. He is survived by his wife, Erma Ferguson of Scottsbluff, sons Wayne (Joyce) Ferguson of Scottsbluff and Robert (Glenda) Ferguson of Green Bay, WI; grandchildren Wayna (Todd) Warren of Rapid City, SD, Robert (Gwen) Ferguson III of Green Bay, WI and Shannone (Jason) Manz of Eau Claire, WI; great grandchildren: Andrew and Abagail Warren; brother Walter (Jean) Ferguson of Scottsbluff; stepchildren Garth (Patricia) Seiffert, Scottsbluff, Steve (Barbara) Seiffert, Albuquerque, NM and Mary Ellen (Merlin) Moyer of Roswell, GA; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Marjorie, and three brothers, Ronald Ferguson, Harold Ferguson and T. R. Ferguson.
