Howard Shannon Potmesil

Howard Shannon Potmesil passed suddenly on March 6, 2008, in Alliance at the age of 43. The celebration of his life will be held 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 11, 2008, at the First Presbyterian Church in Alliance with Dr. Stephen Roosa officiating. A fellowship will be at the church immediately following the services. A gathering will take place at the Family Ranch at 3:00 p.m. that day. He was the youngest son of James and Harriett (Ackerson) Potmesil. He was born April 4, 1964, in Alliance. He attended grade school in Alliance and graduated from MT Michael High School in Elkhorn in 1982. In 1987, he received his BS in Economics from the University of Chicago. In 2004, he earned his Doctorate of Pharmacy from the University of Wyoming. He is survived by his parents, James and Harriett “Polly” Potmesil of Alliance; sisters, Chris Potmesil (Ken Stricklett) of Washington Grove, Maryland and Reed (Lance) Dye of Alliance; brothers, Stuart Potmesil and Scott (Becky) Potmesil all of Alliance; nieces and nephews, W. Tom Stricklett-Potmesil, Chili James Potmesil, Joseph Potmesil, Shane Dye, and Shauna Dye; and special friend, Frances Chagolla. He was preceded in death by his sister Jody Potmesil in 1958. Beloved Son, Brother, Sweetheart, Uncle and Friend will be deeply missed.
