Obituary
Concepcion “Conchita” Perez, 88, of Lakewood, Colorado passed away November 18, 2022. Conchita was born in Minatare, NE on December 8th to Jose and Delores (Montes) Morales. She graduated from Minatare High School in 1951 and lived in Minatare until she moved to Colorado in 1957. However, Conchita would always call Nebraska “home”.
Conchita enjoyed dancing to Mexican music and listening to the songs of her favorite singer Vicente Fernandez. Conchita also loved Mariachi music. She was a fan of Elvis Presley and had a room in her house that she called her “Elvis” room that had many items of Elvis memorabilia. She loved her rose bushes and would want to put a blanket on them at night to keep them warm. She would say “If I’m cold, they must be cold, too”. Conchita will be remembered for her smile, her red lipstick, a good sense of humor and loving her family and friends. The great- grandchildren called her “Grandma Connie” as they ran from room to room at her home.
Conchita married Pete Perez from 1957 until 1982 and they were blessed with 4 daughters.
She is survived by her daughters, Cynthia Perez, Sherri (Frank) Running Shield, Judy (Frank) Hernandez and Jackie (Alan) Whatley; 7 Grandchildren - Nicole (Greg) Banks, Alan (Toni) Whatley Jr., Stephanie Whatley, Jason (Tabitha) Hernandez, Jessica (Nicholas) Lee, Rochelle (Bret) Minix and Monika Whatley; 13 great grandchildren; Siblings - Vicki (Roque) Pino; Bobby (Mary) Morales and Eddie (LouAnn) Morales. Conchita was preceded in death by parents, Siblings – Patrick Vostades, Jesse Morales, Rita Cervantes and 3 infant sisters.
Viewing will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe church at 9 am on Tuesday, November 29, 2022, followed by the Rosary at 10 am, and Funeral Mass at 10:30 am officiated by Father Joseph Thambi.
