Amy was born in Crawford, Nebraska on November 29th, 1962 to John Kenneth and Mavis Maureen (Hall) Eberspecher. Amy was the first of two children born to John and Mavis. She attended elementary and high school in Harrison, graduating from Sioux County High School in 1981. Amy married Tom Murphy on June 18th, 1988. To this marriage, they were blessed with two children, Nicholas and Katie Murphy. Amy worked for Strong Construction for several years, but due to health issues, Amy started working from home.
Amy always had a way of making the best of any situation with her quick wit and sense of humor. She never shied away from a good visit and would drop whatever she was doing to visit. A lot of these were very colorful, as Amy was salt of the earth and spoke what she thought. She lived for the moment with a contagious smile and laugh. Amy was always known to be more concerned about others than for herself. She always loved animals and even won an award in High School for the research she did with a skunk.
Amy is survived by her mother, Mavis Eberspecher of Scottsbluff; Children: Nick (Jessica) Murphy of Scottsbluff, and Katie Murphy (Nate Richter) of Scottsbluff; Grandchildren: Brittyn Kilthau, Kameryn, Emmit, Felic Murphy, Roisin “Ro”, and Bixler of Scottsbluff; Brother, Glen (Deb) Eberspecher of Mitchell; Nieces and nephews: Erica and Jarad Cole of Westminster, CO, Colby (Katelyn) Eberspecher, Ivory and ILa of Van Tassell, Wy; Sisters-in-Law: Kathy Brown and Joan Lucas of Colorado.
Amy was preceded in death by her father, John Eberspecher; Grandparents: Chris and Katie Eberspecher, Marion and Fern Hall; Aunts and uncles: Betty Hanson, Kathleen Gilbert, Wilma Eberspecher, James Hall, and William Hall.
The family would like to thank all of those that knew Amy. Amy was a true Daughter, Sister, Mom, Grandmother, and Friend. Amy had a unique way of making people feel special. As per Amy’s wishes please wear jeans to the service.
