Vincent J. Russo

RUSSO, Vincent J. of Scituate, age 90, passed away peacefully following a brief illness on Tuesday, July 31, 2012, after a life well lived. Loving and devoted husband of 65 years to Edie (Ida Santospirito).

Vincent was a Lt. Commander (Ret.) in the U.S. Navy as a pilot and flight instructor. During his career he served in World War ll, the Korean War, and the Viet Nam War.

During his retirement, he enjoyed travelling with Edie to Europe on many occasions. He also was an avid gardener, boater and fisherman.

Father of Joseph Russo of Costa Mesa, California, Janet Briggs and her husband John of Hilton Head, South Carolina, Laura Sarver and her husband George of Sunnyvale, California. Brother of the late Frank Russo and Mary Del Signore. Proud grandfather of Cecelia, Jacquelyn, Jennifer, Stephen and David. Loving great- grandfather of Emily, Thomas, Brianna and Ida. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Friends and family are invited to attend visiting hours at the Richardson-Gaffey Funeral Home, 382 First Parish Rd, Scituate on Sunday, August 5th from 5pm to 7pm. Funeral from the Richardson-Gaffey Funeral Home on Monday, August 6th at 10am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary of the Nativity Church, 1 Kent St, Scituate at 11am. Burial to follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Scituate.
