Tom grew up in Needham and summered at his grandparents’ house in Scituate. After graduating from college, he bought his grandparents’ home and settled in Scituate where he has resided since.
He received a BS in Business Administration from University of New Hampshire and an MBA from Babson College. He worked at Bear Sterns and JP Morgan for a total of 35 years rising to Senior Managing Director during his tenures. He was passionate about golfing and enjoyed golf trips to Hilton Head with his golfing buddies. During the winter and summer seasons he was busy skiing and boating with his family. Many great family memories were made during trips to Martha’s Vineyard, NH, the Caribbean, and Italy. He and his wife Michelle shared a love of tennis, attending various tennis tournaments around the country and playing at the local clubs. In addition, he was an avid Patriots & Bruins fan.
Tom was the beloved husband of Michelle (Martin) Dwyer, whom he adored and shared 24 years of marriage. He was the adoring and proud father of Ava Ann and Mia June Dwyer of Scituate.
He was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Barbara (Glidden) Dwyer, and sister Pat Dwyer. He was also the loving brother to Steve Dwyer and his wife Polly of Connecticut, Bob Dwyer of Rhode Island, Ted Dwyer and his wife Nancy of Connecticut, Greg Dwyer and his wife Marjorie of Maine, Ellen Parnell and her husband Charlie of Massachusetts, Joann MacMaster and her husband David of Vermont, and chosen brother of Jeff Miller and wife Faye of New Hampshire.
“Uncle Tom” was immensely loved by his many nieces and nephews whom he taught to ski, fish, ride bikes and appreciate family.
A true gentleman who was loved and admired for his friendship, especially by his canine companion the black lab Blu.
A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, June 17, 2023 at 10:30 AM at St. Mary of the Nativity Church, 1 Kent Street, Scituate Harbor, Massachusetts. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. A private burial will follow.
