Marie “Terry” (Talbourdet) Smith – 94, of Scituate, passed away at home on the morning of January 5, 2023, surrounded by her family. She was the beloved wife of the late David F. Smith, with whom she shared 40 years of marriage.
Born in Malden, MA, she was the daughter of the late Guy and Louise (Mathias) Talbourdet. After graduating Malden HS, Terry attended Secretarial school. She worked at Dupont in Boston handling secretarial and various office duties. Once she started a family, she stayed at home to raise her three children. She was a volunteer in the Scituate school system for many years, was a very active Junior Girl Scout leader, and enjoyed participating in local bowling leagues. She volunteered for over 40 years at the Scituate Etrusco, which lends medical and nursing equipment to individuals around the south shore. She was very generous and giving and her cookies and brownies were a legend within the family.
She most loved spending time with her family, grandchildren and loved to play all sorts of games and attended every single school and sporting event of her grandchildren.
She was the sister of the late Lucille Bogel, Andre and Guy Talbourdet.
She was the devoted mother of David A (Barbara) of Scituate. Karen S Morena (Craig) of Norwell and Alan R (Linda Ferrara) of Scituate.

She was “Great-gram” to eight with the ninth due in April. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Terry’s name can be made to the Scituate Etrusco and the Shriners Hospital.
