Born in Quincy, MA on December 15 1933, she was the daughter of John Quinn and Mary ( Cullen) She attended Quincy High School and Wyndom College graduating in 1953.
Marianne moved with her family to Marshfield Hills in 1968 and loved living in her antique home surrounded by her flower gardens and many wonderful friends. She was an active member and supporter of the south shore art community and garden club as well as a 35 year supporter of the Boston Symphony. She loved holiday entertaining and cooking for her family and friends. She was an avid traveler cherishing weekend getaways in New England, crossing the country visiting national parks and her many travels to Europe.
After retiring, Marianne enjoyed being a volunteer at the Daniel Webster House as well as the Clift Rogers library. She supported many charities with Sowing Seeds of Marshfield being her dearest. Most of all, Marianne had great faith and was a member of St Christine's Parish for 55 years. She taught CCD and was a Eucharistic Minister.
Marianne loved her family and leaves behind her sons, Edward (Chip) O’Donnell (Kathy) of Marshfield and Brian D O’Donnell of Boston, as well as her beloved sister, Patricia Keeley, of Butte, Montana, sisters-in-law Patricia Sheets (Red) of Reading and Jeanne O’Donnell of Boston. She is survived by her loving stepchildren, Ray Richard Jr ( Diane) Charlene Pontbriand ( Bob), Jane Southworth (Skip), Suzanne Hatch (Gordie), Paul Richard ( Paula) , and Martha Bruce. She was predeceased by her husbands, Edward T O’Donnell Jr. and Raymond J.Richard as well as siblings, John, Dorothy, Peter Quinn and niece Michelle Quinn.
She will be missed greatly by her adored 10 grandchildren, Stephanie Newhall, Jack O’Donnell, Nicole O'Toole, Allison Bruce, Michelle Pontbriand, Clay, Wes and Mia Richard, Philip and Mathew Southworth and 11 great grandchildren, Brooke, Chase, Charlotte, Hunter, Nathan, Annie, Rosco, Sonya, Owen, Addie, and Emelia
Marianne cherished the time she spent with her nieces and nephews, Peter Quinn Jr ( Debbie), Jackie Brett (Harry), Katie Macrina ( Brian), Ellen Oh (Duke), Beth Munroe (Mark), Maura Dunn (Steve), John Keeley (Mollie) as well as her cousins, Betty Anne Mckeen, Terry Cullen, Patty DeLillo, Tom and Anne Carey, Marcia and Jack Walsh, Joan Proffit, Claire Zec, Alice Ash, Christopher and Linda Cheney, Roberta Mitch, Peggy Bryan and her loving cousin and goddaughter Marilyn Drisco and her husband Jim Drisco.
Family and friends are invited to visit the Richardson-Gaffey Funeral Home, 382 First Parish Rd, Scituate, MA on Wednesday, December 4th from 3-7 PM. A Funeral Mass will be held at St Christine’s on Thursday December 5th at 10:30. Interment to follow at Marshfield Hills Cemetery.
