Mrs. Margaret Maloney

Margaret Leone Maloney (nee McCloskey), age 89, of Scituate, MA, passed peacefully on Thursday, September 27, 2018. She was the former wife of the late G. Richard Maloney. She was the daughter of the late Edward and Margaret McCloskey.

Sister to the late Mary Ann “Ann” LaRocco, and the late John and James McCloskey. Loving mother of Mary Ann Catania of PA (John), Joan Maloney Percy of Agawam (Stephen), Kristen McKenna of Norwell (Kevin), Susanne Stanley of Westwood (Scott), Margaret Bennette of Pembroke and the late Paula Evans of Scituate (Kenneth).

She is also survived by her grandchildren, Andrew, Matthew, Nicole, Ryan, Colleen, Emily, Alex, Nolan, Jacob, Joshua and Margaret. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Margaret was employed as a medical secretary and was a religious education teacher at St. Mary’s in Scituate until her early eighties.

Mom loved all things Scituate, the lighthouse, the beaches, and her church St. Mary’s where she was a longtime parishioner. She loved her neighbors and friends and especially her caretaker companion Patricia Steed of Marshfield.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 2, 2018 from 9-10:30 AM at Richardson-Gaffey Funeral Home, 382 First Parish Rd., Scituate. Family and friends will process to a funeral Mass at 11 AM at St. Mary of the Nativity Church, 1 Kent Street, Scituate. Interment at a later date.
