Joe was born on March 30,1926 in Waltham to the late Robert A. and Mary E. (Deehan) Casey. He died on August 30, 2024 at Allerton House, Hingham at the age of 98.
A graduate of St. Mary’s High School, Joe enlisted in the United States Navy, serving three years during World War II. He later earned both a Bachelor’s Degree and a Master’s Degree from Boston College.
He met his late wife Beatrice K. (FitzGerald) Casey on a blind date. They married and remained devoted to each other for 67 years. They resided in Scituate for 55 years.
After a successful career, Joe retired from Dow Chemical Company; he later established JF Casey Associates where he served as a Manufacturer’s Representative until his second retirement. Retirement afforded him time to golf, travel, attend Continuing Education classes at Boston College, but most importantly, to enjoy time with family, his greatest joy.
Joe is survived by his children, Eileen Casey of Sandwich, Joseph Casey (Buffy) of Franklin, Mary Clare Casey (Robert Hendrickson) of Plymouth, and Anne Casey Cuneo (Mike) of Scituate; his grandchildren, Maggie, Stephen, Katherine, Anthony, Brian, Cory, Ryan, Meg, Thomas and Julia; his great grandchildren, Paul, Jack, Emma, Karina, Mark, Stephen, Millie Ann, Connor, Ellie, Margot and Esmeralda.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 6 from 9:30am to 10:30am at Richardson-Gaffey Funeral Home, 382 First Parish Road, Scituate, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00am at St. Anthony Parish, 10 Summer Street, Cohasset. Burial will be private.
