It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of John Scolponeti, Sr., a beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, who left us surrounded by love and cherished memories. John was a proud Marine, a devoted family man, and an enduring figure in the Marshfield community.
Born and raised in West Roxbury MA, John graduated from Roslindale High School before bravely serving his country as a United States Marine.
John was predeceased by his beloved wife, Linda Scolponeti. Together, they raised a beautiful family in Marshfield, a town John adored and called home for most of his life.
He is survived by his sons, John Scolponeti, Jr., and his wife Diana, Chris Scolponeti and his wife Taylor Kirby Madden, and Mark Scolponeti. John was a proud and doting grandfather to Alden, Lucia, Lea, Brooke, and Rowan Scolponeti, who brought immense joy to his life. He also leaves behind his dear brother, Joseph Scolponeti, and his wife Lorraine, with whom he shared a lifelong bond.
John was a dedicated coach to all his sons, instilling in them not only a love for sports but also values of teamwork and perseverance. His passion for athletics continued as he watched his favorite Boston sport teams and became a fixture at Marshfield Rams baseball and softball games, cheering on his grandchildren with pride and enthusiasm. John’s legacy is one of love of family and he will be greatly missed.
