John Thomas Cochran

Cochran Jr, John T.- Age 73, of Marshfield, passed away on May 29, 2023 surrounded by family. He was the son of the late John T. and Ruth (Thomasson). Loving husband of Angelyn (McCann). Cherished father of Stacey Goudey and her husband Sean of Weymouth, Victoria Maynard and her husband Christopher of Whitman, Benjamin Cochran and his wife Megan of Holbrook; and Stepfather of Cheryl Marble (Sullivan) and her husband Lee of Plymouth and Leigh Sullivan-Fontneau and her fiancé Dan McDonald both of Bridgewater. Beloved grandfather to Sean, Riley, James, Griffen, Emily, Grady, Kelsey, Connor, Gavin and Kyle. He is predeceased by his sister Kathleen A. Webb and survived by his brothers David J. and his wife Andrea of Scituate and Kevin W. and his wife Phyllis of Plymouth, his nieces and nephews, Chris, Seth, Sean, Danielle and Sydney. He is predeceased by his beloved dog, Scooter.

He retired after 33 years with the phone company; after which he went to school at Stonehill and UMASS Boston (got all A's) to be certified as a CADC/LADC Addiction counselor. He worked at several detox settings but finally at Baystate Community Services of Quincy.

He loved his family and friends. If he loved you, he told you what you might not want to hear. Taking care of the yard and weeding the street was therapeutic to him. He was an active and proud member of Alcoholics Anonymous, since September 20,1986. He made many treasured friendships in those halls and sponsored many people helping them on their road to recovery. A visitation and service will take place on Sunday June 4, 2023 from 2pm-6pm at Richardson-Gaffey Funeral Home, 382 First Parish Road, Scituate. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Father Bill's & MainSpring ( helpfbms.org )
