Henry "Jickey" Rogers

Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Frank and Augusta (Cardoza) Rogers, he resided in New Bedford, Scituate, North Dartmouth and recently St. Cloud, Florida.

Formerly, he was employed as a Captain at Bridgewater State Prison. He was also a veteran of World War II and served in the Merchant Marines.

He was the loving husband of the late Katherine "Sister" Rogers.

Henry leaves behind 4 children, Henry "Rick" Rogers, wife Kathleen Markley, Joyce Santos, husband Alfred, Priscilla Rogers, husband Douglas Lee and Lawrence Rogers. Henry also leaves 7 step- children, Roland Logan, Stephen Monteiro, Renee Monteiro Brandon, Leonard Monteiro, fiancé Vanessa McCarthy, Cynthia Monteiro Elias, Yvonne Roth, husband David, and Yvette Campbell, husband Kevin.

He is preceded by one step-child, Michael Monteiro.

Additional Survivors include 3 sisters, Mary Brown, Cynthia DeBarros and Cheryl DeCosta. He is preceded by 10 siblings, Olivia Rodericks, Candida Souza, John "Boy" Rogers, Manual "LaLa" Rodericks, Josephine Lomba, Joseph "Jedge" Rogers, Evelyn Pina Viera, Anna Rocha and Frank Barros. His step-brother, Roger "Wiskey" Barros also preceded him.

He will be missed by a host of beloved grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Friends and Family are invited to attend visiting hours on Friday, July 21st from 4-8 PM at Richardson-Gaffey Funeral Home, 382 First Parish Road, Scituate. The funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, July 22nd at St. Mary of the Nativity Church, 1 Kent Street, Scituate at 10 AM, followed by interment in St. Mary's Cemetery, Scituate.
